The San Francisco Yacht Club welcomes the Melges 24 Class for the 2024 World Championship

The 2024 World Championship returns to SFYC for the first time since 2013.  Five days of great racing and shoreside social activities are scheduled 20 - 24 August 2024.  Twelve races are planned to determine the next world champion in sunny, windy, and challenging SF Bay race conditions.

The SFYC is one of the leading yacht clubs of the world and a member of The International Council of Yacht Clubs. In addition to top-rate race management on the water, shoreside activities will include hosted parties in the brand new regatta center.  The club is walking distance to local hotels, restaurants, public ferry, and more.

As a lead up to the world championship, teams are invited to attend the US Nationals in Santa Barbara in July and the Pacific Coast Championships in Richmond, CA in early August.

“We are thrilled to host the 2024 Worlds and our committee has been working for years to produce an all-around first class event”, Commodore Jenni Dailey stated.

A regatta on San Francisco Bay is not complete without pre or post competition visits to the best of Northern California including Napa & Sonoma wine country, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Carmel, Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park.
