WHIDBEY ISLAND RACE WEEK KICKS OFF THIS WEEKEND

18 JULY 2008 • Adult Summer Camp, best known as Whidbey Island Race Week, is event number seven on the International Melges 24 North American Ranking and officially kicks off this weekend in the Pacific Northwest. There is still time to make the event if you have the need for speed.

Fifteen Melges 24s have confirmed their entry to this very competitive week long event, and participants are traveling from as far away as Colorado, Canada, Idaho and California.

A practice session will commence on Sunday around noon for the fleet to make their final tweaks to race. Then, five full days of hot, Melges 24 racing will take place, complemented by social activities each and every night — live music, dancing and fun! The U.S. Navy is pulling out the stops on Thursday night for a big Base party — sailors are invited!

Stay tuned to the U.S. Melges 24 Class Association website as full reports and results will be posted as they become available. Be sure to check out these links too!
