| 2008 HEART CUP, AUGUST 01-03 | |||
August is the high point of the summer racing season for the U.S. Melges 24 Class. The Heart Cup is one of many incredible events happening as the Northeast looks ahead to the pinnacle event of the year — the 2008 NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP (NAC), hosted by the Eastport Yacht Club, held in Annapolis, Maryland on October 26 - November 2. The Heart Cup offers up some superb, summertime Melges 24 racing for sailors, and for the family — great beaches and extracurricular activities for the kids. For the grown-ups, Atlantic City is nearby and guarantees excitement with casinos, the famous boardwalk, upscale shopping and world-class entertainment. Competitors that are looking to enjoy the Dave Ullman training clinic at the 2008 Newport Regatta, should plan on the Heart Cup to keep the regatta-prep momentum going. New Jersey fleet captain Brad Jungels has made special arrangements for boat storage after the event - FREE OF CHARGE. In addition, the Melges 24s will be treated to a great venue and dinner — the Mount Gay will be flowing! There is plenty of launching, dockage and hoisting capabilities, also lodging is not an issue either. Check out the official website for the OCEAN CITY YACHT CLUB. You will find at the OFFICIAL EVENT WEB SITE all the information you need — NOTICE OF RACE (NOR), SAILING INSTRUCTIONS and ONLINE REGISTRATION. Sign-up your team today, as rumor has it, several boats from the Southeast are traveling to this event as well. If anyone needs additional assistance, please feel free to contact New Jersey Fleet Captain, BRAD JUNGELS on e-mail. |
