WHIDBEY ISLAND RACE WEEK, PINNACLE OF PACIFIC NORTHWEST RACING SEASON

05 MAY 2008 • The weather has turned in the Great Pacific North West and it is Melges 24 weather now! The fleet has surged in numbers to over 25 local boats, with 3 new boats added to the fleet in the last two months.

The PNW Melges 24 fleet is getting ready for two major events coming up. The first is Seattle NOOD May 16-18th. The fleet already has 13 boats signed up with boats traveling in from Idaho, Oregon, Colorado, Washington, and Canada! Today is the last day to sign up with out a late feet is May 15th.

Many traveling boats are keeping their boats in Seattle for another great event the Pacific Coast Championships (PCC’s) July 20-25th. This event is held at Whidbey Island Race Week. We have boats coming in Idaho, Oregon, Colorado, Washington, Canada, California, and Tahoe. The racing will be tight with over 150 teams in multiple classes expected for this event. We currently have 12 teams already signed up for this event, with many more teams expecting to sign up soon. The sailboat racing will not be the only events going for this week. There will be golf, volleyball, biking, and some great dancing in the evenings.
