| 2008 TEXOMA LAKEFEST MELGES 24 REGATTA, APRIL 18-20 | |||
A total of nine Melges 24s are set to race in 2008 including Shawn Grisham on 'Bulls-Eye', Steve Eller on 'Cold Shot', USMCA Gulf Coast District Governor Matt Mayo on 'Trick Monkey' and Mark Bryan on 'Barking Fish.' Class newcomers Andrew Wallford on Wee Jaggie', Bryan Calk on 'Devil Dog', Clay Miller 'Outta The Blue' and Gary Baumgartner on 'Risky Business' will be in attendance as will Rick Mallinson on 'Speedemon.' The fleet will host a Melges 24 campground party/casual dinner in which a brief meeting will be held. Everyone is invited so bring a chair, an adult beverage and stay a while. Feel welcomed to get to know your fellow Melges 24 owners. Hosted by the Texoma Sailing Club (TSC) in Denison, Texas this event also happens to be one of the most successful charitable events in the region. TSC has teamed up with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to Sail for the cure. In 2007, more than 11,000 sailing from around the world combined a passion for the sport of sailing with an equal commitment to fight cancer. This regatta celebrates 22 years if success and 2008 will be just as monumental. This event is sponsored by major supporters such as West Marine, Sailing World, North Sails, John McCray Limited Editions, SunSail, Ken Gardiner Model Maker, Grandpappy Point, Mount Gay Rum, Rejex and Gaubatz Marketing & Photography.
