06 DECEMBER 2007 • The Melges 24 fleet in the Southeast Region is getting ready, most certainly excited as the 2007 Key Largo Regatta happens this upcoming weekend, December 8-9. As many as twenty team are expected to attend, making this one of the premiere events on the Southeast racing schedule.

Among those scheduled to make the event are Marc Hollerbach from Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan; Frank Davenport from Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; Tom Carter from Annapolis, Maryland; Guy Mossman from Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; Tom Kassbury from San Francisco, California — all traveling great distances to compete. The remainder of the fleet is based in the ever-growing and flourishing region of South Florida — Regatta Chair Jerry Creasman, Jim Signor, Bob McElwain, George Haynie, Cary Siegler, Mike Catalano, Richard Slosar, Gary Schwarting and Jim Gunderson will be in attendance. The one international entry is John Pollard from the UK on his way, we are certain for future competition at Acura Key West 2008 in late January.

If you are on the fence about this regatta, it's not too late. Entries are being accepted right up until the very last minute. With a cold front set to move through late on Thursday, early Friday; temperatures in the mid-80s, planing conditions are on order with breeze expected 13-15 on Saturday and 18-20 on Sunday — thrill rides are a sure thing!

Please see the following links for the NOR (NOTICE OF RACE) and the officialENTRY FORM as well as a PDF MAP of the local area referencing landmarks and directions to various hotels, launching and the Upper Keys Sailing Club.

Special thanks to Pusser's Rum as they have come through with some great trophies and of course — their traditional FREE RUM POUR on Friday night!
