| THAT'S A WRAP! CHUCK HOLZMAN WINS MIDWEST CHAMPION BRAGGING RIGHTS! | |||
A interesting thing happened in Lake Geneva this year. Five races with thirty-one boats and every race had a different winner, a different 2nd place boat and 3rd place boat. The event winner Brian Porter and Paul Hulsey in third posted two 4th place finishes. Winning the Midwest series is Chuck Holzman and Co. on Flyer '02. Flyer earns all bragging rights until May of 2008 when we start over. Congratulations! They sailed in every event and outlasted everyone else. Second place went to John Podmajersky, Paul Hulsey and his HooDlum team were third. FULL SERIES RESULTS have been posted. 2008 MIDWEST MELGES 24 REGATTA SCHEDULE Make plans now to attend all six events! Gateway Melges 24 Spring Regatta, May 3-4 Carlyle, Illinois New fleet of six boats kicks it off with a new event! Muskegeon Regatta, May 17-18 Muskegeon, MI The traditional battle in Muskegon will ensue. Detroit NOOD, May 30-June 1 Bayview Yacht Club, Detroit, Michigan That will be the spring, get back on the water line up. Then, we will break so everyone can do there local club/Mac thing they do. Then... it all starts back up: Grand Traverse City Invitational, August 23-24 Traverse City, MI Red Fox Regatta, August 30-31 Charlevoix, MI Lake Geneva Fall Championship, October 4-5 Lake Geneva, WI This will be the ultimate wind down for the Midwest so we can all head over to the North American Championship later in the month in Annapolis — what a great warm-up that will be!
