MATT MAYO'S TRICK MONKEY WINS 33RD ANNUAL GOVERNOR'S CUP

11 SEPTMBER 2007 • Article courtesy of Gary Baumgartner • The first day of racing consisted of rain, light patches of shifting air and more rain, Sunday provided sunny skies and steady breeze. It
all worked well for Matt Mayo's Trick Monkey and the crew (who found time between mountain biking the Ozark Hills) to win the 33rd Annual Governor's Cup for the Melges Class at Lake Stockton, MO with four bullets.

Matt had all the answers to the light air and was never really challenged until the last race on Sunday. Andrew Walford and crew on Wee Jaggee and Steve Eller's Cold Shot ended up tied each with 11 points. Wee Jaggee takes second after five tie-breakers are applied. Risky Business (14 points) and Out of the Blue (20 points) the Stockton boats finished out the fleet. So much for local knowledge!!

The Melges 24 participation made this event on Lake Stockton one of thebest ever. Thanks to all the travelers!
