NOR NOW AVAILABLE FOR THE GOVERNOR'S CUP, SEPTEMBER 7-9

14 AUGUST 2007 • Stockton Yacht Club has just posted the NOR for the 33rd annual Governor's Cup Regatta on September 7-9, 2007 at Lake Stockton, MO. The first day events are a cruising race which is essentially a reverse start practice race that doesn't count for the competitive series.

Visit The Stockton Yacht Club online today!

If you are planning on entering the regatta, it's best to make lodging reservations as soon as possible. The lodging is limited and I would recommend going to the "Information" link on the yacht club web site and contact Orleans Trail Marina and Resort or Stockton State Park Marina for lodging. All events for the weekend will be centered around Orleans Trail Marina. There is newly built lodging there with a meeting center and it is probably a good choice for lodging. State Park Marina has two bedroom condo's which have a kitchen and dining area and are reasonably priced. It's about 15 minutes away from Orleans Trail, so it's an easy drive.

Be prepared to "ramp launch" at either marina as there are no hoisting or lift facilities available. Lake Stockton is approximately one hour north of Springfield, MO and for those who are planning on attending, if you will e-mail me, I will get detailed directions to you on either marina. I will be available Friday afternoon to assist with getting you settled. Try to get here early, as we are planning a Melges 24 party on Friday night.

Interest has been good to date and I haven't heard from the Illinois boats (there are five at Lake Carlyle), but will keep everyone posted.
