NORTHEAST MELGES 24s ARE GETTING READY FOR THE HOT, SUMMER SAILING SEASON!

21 MAY 2007 • From David Ford, Team Lightwave We're finally emerging from hibernation here in New England after a very cold and wet spring. The local fleet is already visible on the water and is gearing up for a great season of racing here in Newport.

First up on the calendar is the Halfway Rock Regatta on Naragansett Bay on June 2nd/3rd. This is a brand new event hosted by Sail Newport and New England Boatworks and could be a great annual event for the M24 fleet. It's open to all IRC, PHRF and one design classes.

On June 5th the Tuesday night Summer series starts, hosted by the Newport Yacht Club. There should be at least five M24's on the line every Tuesday evening through end of August.

The 23rd annual Newport Regatta will be held on July 13-15th, hosted by Sail Newport.

Sail Newport is the home base of the Newport M24 fleet and is a great place to keep your boat for the Summer.

And if that wasn't enough to come to New England for the Summer. Combine your trip with going to Fenway Park and watch the Red Sox on their way to another World Series title.
