DOUG KESSLER/JUSTIN CHAMBERS ARE 2006 MELGES 24 CORINTHIAN U.S. NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

22 NOVEMBER 2006 • Doug Kessler at the helm for Justin Chambers from Buford, Georgia on LayLine II are the 2006 Melges 24 Corinthian U.S. National Champions! Onboard with Kessler and Chambers was Doug Thome and John Fewell. As usual the Corinthian division was by far one of the most tightly fought. In second place overall was Marc Hollerbach from Michigan on Fu and in third was new boat owner Othmar Mueller von Blumencron on Gannetin third. Following in fourth, from the UK was Martin Wedge on Eric and in fifth, USMCA President Scott Gregory on Team Satisfaction.

Over the course of three days the Corinthian competition was exciting as the overall. Eighteen teams qualified for the title of Corinthian champion, but in the end there could be only one. On Monday, Sean Scarborough on Rhino was awarded the daily overall. Tuesday's daily was awarded to John Harrison on Airbourne from Cocoa, Florida and Saturday's award went to the overall Champion Kessler.

Congratulations to all the Corinthian competitors as this was the largest competing fleet in 2006!
