SHAKE DOWN AT THE 2006 DETROIT NOOD AS KEN GRAY AND PAT SAGAN TAKE LEAD

03 JUNE 2006 • To no one's surprise, day two was full of twists and turns in the results department on the Melges 24 course during the 2006 Detroit NOOD. This ever-growing-in-popularity event is making good on it's promise - top notch racing and steady competition. Day two is proof as Ken Gray and Pat Sagan on USA 175 take over the lead.

Timothy O'Neill on Rapid Sequence was holding the lead going into today's racing, however with some fluky conditions and cool temperatures, twenty-four M24s battled it out. In the end Midwest Fleet frequent flyer Chuck Holzman on Flyer 02 turned the speed up a knotch with a 1, 6 finish for the day moving him into second place overall, right behind fleet leaders Gray and Sagan. O'Neill slipped to third, now trailing the first place spot by a whopping eleven points.

As the title of 2006 Melges 24 Detroit NOOD Champion hangs in the balance, this truly is anyone's regatta. With so many leader changes and shuffling of the results board, literally anything could happen and anyone could win.
