| MELGES 24 : DETROIT NOOD ROCK CITY! | |||
With the great success of the Muskegeon Regatta that officially kicked-off the M24 season in the Midwest, the fleet rallies onward to Detroit. Last year this event was definitely voted most improved in the attendance column and this year will be no exception. Teams are traveling from many miles to go head-to-head including Chuck Holzman on Flyer 2 aiming for another win. Other strong contendors include Holzman's nemesis, Midwest District Governor Mike Dow on Flying Toaster (both are regularly seen at the top battling it out on the course, then having a beer in the bar afterwards). Marc Hollerbach on Foo is back after a little sailing break since Key West. Traveling from Atlanta is Team Satisfaction with Scott Gregory driving, Mal Hill, Michael Schulz and Jeremy Tudor working the boat. Simon Strauss and Team Gill has always been a force to reckon with and last but not least, local favorite and Detroit Fleet Captain Paul Hulsey on Hoodlum Racing will be in excellent winning form. Paul did well in St. Pete's and in Annapolis, so now that he is on home turf, we'll see if he can pull it off the title! If you are in the Midwest area and still on the fence about this regatta, well now is the time to make the decision. Pack the boat and get to Detroit this weekend, because this is one of the most fun events on the schedule in 2006 and they take entries all the way up until Thursday morning!
