CHUCK HOLZMAN LEADS MELGES 24 CLASS AT ANNAPOLIS NOOD

28 APRIL 2006 – Fresh in from the Midwest area, Chuck Holzman on Flyer 2 is leading by one slim point, just ahead of Evan Jahn on Bling Bling in second place overall. The seventeen boat strong fleet at the 2006 Annapolis NOOD is one of the most exciting to watch, especially the mark roundings and the downwind runs. Despite the rather cool conditions, the weather held out for the fleet as they completed three amazing races. 2006 St. Petersburg NOOD Champion, Eric Nerlinger on Inside Voice won the first race of the day with Jahn not far behind. For race two, it was Holzman having a go at leading the pack and grabbing first place position over Nerlinger, who was right on his heels in second. And, for the third race it was Holzman and Jahn battling it out, with Jahn and tactician, champion Finn sailor Geoff Ewenson taking the win with Holzman having no choice but to settle for second. Paul Hulsey on Hoodlum Racing, seated fourth overall secured the third place position in race three. Racing will continue on Saturday as everyone heads back out to the course for more racing action!
