SHAWN BURKE AT THE HELM FOR RICK ORCHARD ON GRINS ARE 2006 CHARLESTON RACE WEEK CHAMPIONS!

09 APRIL 2006 • Congratulations to Shawn Burke at the helm of Rick Orchard's Grins Melges 24 team as they are the 2006 Melges 24 Charleston Race Week Champions! Not far behind, just three points out of the overall first place position, in second is Reggie Fairchild on Wireless. Local favorites John Lucas and Marcus Durlach are third.

Sunday, April 9, day three of Charleston Race Week delivered two great races. After yesterday's powerful afternoon thunderstorms, the Melges 24s went back to racing today. Burke stayed on top of his game as Fairchild challenged him in race one. But it was the strong team of Lucas and Durlach that grabbed the top spot in the first race. The last race of the day was a respective finish to the overall winners - Orchard, Fairchild, Lucas & Durlach and in fourth Steve Jones and Eric Andrews having a phenomenal weekend!
